Chavurah Groups

A Chavurah is a circle of friends with similar interests who gather to learn about and observe our Jewish traditions. They are a great way for members to feel more connected and help make a large congregation feel more like a family.

I joined CBI on the recommendation of friends who were members. I had never belonged to a synagogue before. I came to find not only a spiritual home, but found friendship among the members. I was part of a B’nai Mitzvah with 9 other wonderful women - we are the Mitzvah Sistas and will be friends for life. So I found a home at CBI.

Empty Nesters

A social group for couples with young adult children who have recently (or not too recently) moved on to a new stage in life. We gather for social, religious, philanthropic, and educational reasons. Open, inviting and warm group hoping to make meaningful connections with others.

Our book club is a wonderful way to build friendships and connect with other members and community guests. Monthly discussions are facilitated by local authors and members.

Sandwich Brigade

Our Sandwich Brigade gather to share stories and make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for children in underserved afterschool programs. Each week, they make 150-200 sandwiches that are delivered to The Boys and Girls Club of Boca Raton and The Caring Kitchen in Delray Beach.
Frequency: Weekly

Brotherhood

Our Brotherhood is a spirited group of men that seeks to participate in meaningful activities within the synagogue and our community. From happy hours to sporting events to business networking socials and everything in between, our events and activities are designed to entertain, educate and, most of all, build friendships while bringing our members together in positive, enjoyable ways.

Women’s Torah Study

Build a sense of community as you delve into prayer with fellow members and take a deeper look our Torah. Engage in an interactive discussion of the weekly Torah portion and discover how to relate the life lessons in the Torah to our modern lives.

Grandparents Club

The CBI Grandparents Club was created to give grandparents a broad avenue to support the education of their grandchildren at both the NCECE and SLJ. Your annual donation will go to our Congregational Fund, supporting all areas of CBI, including our schools.
