We are pleased to welcome Fran Steinmark, a local author, to discuss one of her novels, The Woven Skirt.

ABOUT THE BOOK Kat is in a place of disconnect. She is twenty-eight years old, overweight, unhappy and afraid to take the necessary steps to free herself from an abusive marriage. Her self-confidence and zest for life have been stripped away. To help embolden Kat, her mother has given her an old, ratty skirt and an intriguing, personal journal, which reveals the secrets of several generations. How for heaven’s sake is this supposed to improve her daughter’s predicament?

Join Congregation B’nai Israel and Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church for an inspiring event with friendship and song, followed by an elevated Oneg Shabbat dessert reception.

Note: Should you choose to attend the exhibit on your own, The Nova Exhibit leaves Miami January 31st, 2025.

The Nova Music Festival is now open in Miami. The in-depth remembrance of the brutal massacre at The Nova Music Festival in Re’im, Israel, on October 7, sets out to recreate a festival dedicated to peace and love that was savagely cut short by Hamas’ barbaric attack. As the host community, Federation deeply encourages all South Floridians to visit the groundbreaking installation. Viewers are empowered to responsibly explore and bear witness to the tragedy of October 7 while joining together in the hopeful plea that “We will dance again.” A portion of ticket proceeds benefit the Tribe of Nova Foundation, formed in the aftermath of the attack to support the physical, spiritual and mental healing journey of the survivors and the bereaved families. Due to the sensitive and graphic nature of some of the content, the exhibit is recommended for ages 16-plus. Last day to attend the exhibit is January 31st, 2025.

Beginning Wednesday, January 29
11:30AM
