springtime feed the community in memory of Lori Sklar

help make a difference

Congregation B’nai Israel has partnered with Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church for our 3rd Annual Springtime Feed the Community to provide meal kits for low income families. Neighbors will be invited to Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, March 28, to pick up everything needed for a bountiful Spring feast. There are 3 easy ways to show your support for this event: participate in our food drive, volunteer or make a donation.

For questions about this event, please contact Minda Shaiman at 561.241.8118 or minda@cbiboca.org.

ways to participate

Food Drive

Monday, March 18 - Wednesday, March 27

We are collecting the following items to include in our meal kits: canned vegetables, canned sweet and white potatoes, cornbread mix, cake mixes, chicken gravy, rolls, bread, bottles of water, juice boxes, canned fruit, applesauce, and individually wrapped cookies and cakes.

Please drop off your donations in the blue bins in CBI's Admin Circle on your way in or out or bring with you to Shabbat.

You can also order items from Amazon for delivery to CBI.

Host a Neighborhood Food Drive

A great way to help us collect non-perishable food items for our initiative is to host a Neighborhood Food Drive. Simply set up a box in your neighborhood to collect donations and invite your friends and neighbors to participate. We will supply you with a flyer and sample letter that you can use to spread the word. Plus, students can earn community service hours for their efforts.

Please contact Minda Shaiman if you are interested in hosting a Neighborhood Food Drive and/or for community service hours.

Donations

Help support CBI and Ebenezer by sponsoring a plate, a whole table or even multiple families. All donations will go directly to purchasing grocery items for our meal kits.

Volunteer

Tuesday, March 26 - Thursday, March 28

We are looking for help delivering food to Ebenezer, assembling bags and distributing meal kits.
